I am the most solitary lover of humanity I know. I grew up feeling like an alien and have never shaken that feeling. But I love people. Writing is how I commune with them. Theatre has always been an ideal vehicle for me because it takes an act of communion for it to exist.
I use the past to illuminate the present. Everywhere I look, I see stories of interconnectedness: cause-and-effect ripples through time that link our history to the present moment through five hundred million stories we could never hope to hold in our minds at once. I plan to spend the rest of my life leaping for these tales, capturing them, and sharing them as an act of devotion to humanity, one production at a time.
